1. they cant hold you down. if you have a MWD you can just run. if you dont have a mwd you just shouldnt ever be out of empire. 2. their fighter bombers dont do **** to small ships. yeah if you stay there long enough they will eventually wear you down. 3. 2 hics and 2 logies will probably hold any 1 MS down. just cycle the point and rep the hics alternativley, if you position good enough travel time of fighters will also give you alot of buffer. 4. allways make friends. if you know in that area there's someone that likes to hotdrop you with a super or 2 find powerful friends that have 10. I'm telling you there's no incentive for a decent sized allinace like hearing mothership tackled. 5. your 2 - 10 man gang is just looking for a carebear or hauler to gank, i find it absurd to complain if you find yourself in the position of that hauler or carebear. It's eve, you are nowhere safe. be prepared.
I agree that on the otherside that dreads might need some tweeking. They are now marginally useful since motherships are not good enough for killing posses , titans arent allways available in enough numbers, and you need alot of bs'es to kill one.
But aside that role they just arent used anymore.

Originally by: WrednaMalpa Nerf what you want. Problem with supercaps blobs isn't there. It's in maintenance of those ships. There is none. Effective cost of having any number of caps or supercaps is ZERO. Bigger aliances with access to tons of resources can just build them indefinitely as long as they have undisturbed systems somewhere deep inside their teritory and field them as they would field any other ship. Then why bother with fleet of BS if you can have same number of SC on the field ?
What's the maintenance cost of a BS i may ask ?
i'll tell you what's the maintnence cost of a supercapital: it's the account cost for the pilot. And you need 1 pilot/1 supercap. This is not something you encounter with any other type of ship.
As far as building one, you might be overlooking the fact that you can only build one at a POS, and there's only one timer to get that pos down. and you that pos is down you are **** out of luck. And the actual building takes about a month and a half. Enough time for a bs fleet and take that pos down.
You can see a number of allinaces that had to effectivley pause their campaigns to get back and save their CSAAS.
I'll add to maintnence cost the cost of posses they are in the cost of moving them around ( if your main force leaves they shystems you stay you wont be leaving the supercaps behind. )
And the cost to replace any of them if they die. So there. you have it there are alot of costs. They can all be payed by big alliances. Probably not your case. Deal with it. Read 2 posts above to learn how to deal with a supercap in low sec.

That doesnt solve hotdropping a BC problem, does it?
Well if you have been hotdropped by a sc in your bc and couldnt get away you deserve to die actually ;)
MWD is your friend ... remember that.
